Applications Support Specialist I
Position Summary
The Applications Support Specialist I is responsible for in-field support of automated immunohistochemistry (IHC) instrumentation and reagents. This includes training, troubleshooting, and follow-up to ensure high customer satisfaction and seamless product implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support Activities:
- Participate in installations and evaluations of IHC instrumentation at hospitals and research facilities.
- Conduct comprehensive onsite evaluations of antibodies and probes.
- Provide advanced operator training and follow-up technical support for new and existing customers.
- Address complex application and instrumentation issues, offering alternative solutions as needed.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
Information Management & Reporting:
- Document and improve processes using spreadsheet and database tools.
- Create, edit, and maintain operator manuals for laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and present reports, surveys, and research findings as required by senior management.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with specialized product training and support staff development.
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts, including process improvements and market information reporting.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field; Bachelor's preferred. HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required; QIHC (ASCP) highly desired.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in immunohistochemistry and histology in clinical, industrial, or research environments.
- Strong technical and customer service skills with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present information clearly.
