Description
The University of Chicago seeks an Assistant Instructional Professor for Chicago, IL location, as part of the Romance Languages and Literatures, to teach multiple Spanish courses and assist with course administration and instructional materials development. Prepare lectures, review and grade assignments, mentor graduate students. Teach classes in Spanish Language program. Perform related administration such as serving as Talk Abroad, Connect coordinator, mentorship coordination organizing co-curricular events. May engage in outreach and publicity on behalf of the Spanish Language program. The position is full time.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Hispanic linguistics, applied linguistics, translation, second-language teaching or related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or in Spanish language instruction required. Required Skills: 1 year with each: teaching Spanish at the college or post-secondary level; development of instructional materials. ACTFL Superior level (or equivalent) proficiency in Spanish and advanced level (or equivalent) proficiency in English is required. Must be able to demonstrate through interview or certification.
