Governors State University's College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in the Division of Psychology and Counseling to begin August 2025. Psychology faculty support an undergraduate program (500 majors and minors), an M.A. program in Clinical Psychology, and an Ed.S. in School Psychology. We seek candidates who fit with our scientist-practitioner philosophy of teaching students how to address controversial psychological questions using the scientific process, and training students in the knowledge and application of empirically supported, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practices. Applicants must have a passion for teaching undergraduate students and working with a range of ages, first-generation students, and underrepresented students.Responsibilities will include: teaching primarily in the graduate program, which is an evening teaching schedule, with the possibility of teaching in the undergraduate program; maintaining an active scholarship agenda, and; service to the university, community, and the profession of psychology. Governors State University is the only regional, public, comprehensive university in Chicago's south suburban area, serving approximately 7,750 student annually. Required and Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications-Earned doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology or related field from an APA accredited program
Preferred Qualifications:-License eligible in the State of Illinois-Specialization in an area of health psychology -Experience in integrative care settings-Teaching in a diverse setting-Experience with underserved student populations-Scholarship in the field of psychology -Ability to work independently and collaboratively with groups both internal and external to the division -Experience mentoring students in research Supplemental Information
