About the Role
The Associate Manager, Operations will own the oversight of day-to-day activities and execution of their team. They will report on standard work processes to ensure that the transportation solution for each account is fully maintained for accuracy and efficiency. They will multitask and continually collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure service goals and financial objectives are achieved. This position will work onsite our Southeast COE in Greensboro, NC.
What the Candidate Will Do
• Proactively identify and communicate issues, propose and implement solutions for continuous improvement regarding processes, cost, service, and profitability
• Conflict resolution and problem solving
• Responsible for training and career development of direct reports (including 1 on 1’s, coaching, sequential performance reviews and mentoring), as well as monitor and hold team accountable for all key job functions
• Develop and distribute customer reports and internal performance management reports
• Negotiate and contract rate agreements with carriers, reconcile established rate levels with available purchased transportation providers, seek out new carriers to provide service at competitive rate levels
• TMS Updates/Maintenance (including rates, SRG, OCA, FAM, SPT, etc.)
• Rate Quotes
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with all internal and external customers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses
• Leverage knowledge and understanding of Modes, Rates, Weights, Volumes, Pallets, etc. based on Customer's shipping requirements
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of Transportation, Logistics or 3PL experience
• Minimum 1 year of People Leadership experience for Office employees
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Process improvement and/or Lean Six Sigma certification
• Intermediate proficiency within Microsoft Office Suite
• 4+ years of logistics or customer service experience
• 2+ years of People Leadership experience
