Description:
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. For candidates with a MD, Board Certification in Neurology is required.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching grad students, post-docs and medical students if the ideal candidate has PhD only. If MD the ideal candidate will also supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include seeing cognitive patients with a focus on those with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias in outpatient clinic.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include basic, translational, or clinical research focused on neurodegenerative disease. The ideal candidate will be expected to develop an independent research program supported by federal and foundation grant funded, as well as participate in collaborative science supported by programs such as the Penn Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Frontotemporal Dementia Center, Center for Neurodegeneration and Repair, and Institute on Aging.
The ideal candidate must have a strong record of scholarly productivity and federal funding in order to be considered. Candidates in midcareer are encouraged to apply.
