Join us at AstraZeneca as a Building Automation Engineer specializing in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Equipment Management Systems (EMS). You will play an integral role in the Facilities and Engineering team, ensuring reliable and energy-efficient operations of our facility. What you will do:
- Own and manage the Building Management System, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and environmental systems are within specified ranges and that operating systems function properly.
- Conduct troubleshooting of Equipment Monitoring System and Building Management System issues and alarms to ensure continuous operation and performance.
- Oversee and troubleshoot utility and facility equipment, diagnose and replace defective components
- Perform routine evaluation studies of utilities and process equipment and systems,
- Provide accurate budget estimates for capital equipment and projects
- Resolve routine technical and engineering issues with guidance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school degree with commensurate experience. A bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Building Management Systems, HVAC automation controls, energy management systems, or other related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years minimum of maintenance experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company with direct experience with GMP facility operation.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Equipment Management Systems (EMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) in a GMP-regulated environment, with a focus on Siemens equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of EMS and BMS technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.), with specific experience in integrating Siemens systems.
- Proficiency in system integration and networking principles within a GMP environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex system issues while adhering to GMP regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a GMP environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, Siemens certifications) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a leadership role within a facilities management team.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to facilities management in a pharmaceutical setting.
