Job Description Summary:
What you need to know about the role:

The Checkout business unit focuses on providing Branded/Guest Checkout solutions to all merchants, consumer segments, and partners across, all regions, in all shopping contexts online, and mobile. The team oversees one-time, recurring, and subscription payments to enable merchants to offer the right solution to their consumers. Additionally, as a two-sided network, the Checkout team is responsible for the consumer experience during and after post-checkout by providing the wallet capabilities and their presentment in the Checkout experience, receipts, and package tracking.

As a Checkout Business Risk and Control (BRCL) Analyst, you will support the product management organization by managing and executing day-to-day risk management activities to ensure PayPal delivers great customer experiences. These responsibilities include conducting product change reviews, including creating processes and documentation and creating risk and control associated with product change reviews.

The team is relied upon to manage the overall risk environment of the products, support operational processes specific to our products, and spearhead critical risk remediation projects.

Role Description:

We are looking for a Business Risk and Control Analyst to join our Checkout product team who is a highly organized go-getter, detail-oriented, enthusiastic about learning our products and motivated to make a positive impact on our business in our ever-changing environment.

This role will partner and collaborate with the business and SLOD, as well as with other Business Risk and Control Leads, Risk and compliance Product Engagement teams, Risk, Legal, and compliance Business Partners, and stakeholders across Product, Policy, and other supporting teams.

Your day-to-day:
  • Administer the product launch review process
  • Provide post-product launch support to product, legal, and compliance stakeholders
  • Support the issues management process by participating in issue and solution discovery and ensuring issue details and remediation tasks are documented
  • Support the quarterly incident management QA assessments and identify any gaps or potential issues.
  • Maintenance of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool data for areas of responsibility
  • Support the risk assessment process by creating and maintaining risk and control inventories
  • Track progress, provide timely updates, and escalate blockers and timeline concerns to management. Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management.
  • Build documentation around our product launch review process

Requirements:
  • Strong Communication skills and a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to drive productive discussions with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute action plans.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects, and drive results.
  • Detail-oriented, with attention to meeting documentation-based timelines
  • Strategic thinker who understands what they are doing and why they are doing it and can envision how it can be modified to increase efficiency
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn the checkout ecosystem and the facets of our products and processes
  • Analytical thinker who can work comfortably on data analysis in Excel/Smartsheet and another internal tooling to determine the quantitative impact of potential issues or operational improvements
  • Be someone who enjoys identifying, explaining, and solving problems cross-functionally

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$52800 to $136510
