As a Capital Markets Analyst, you are responsible for the development and production of regularly scheduled and ad hoc data extracts and reports. You will serve as a subject-matter-expert both in identifying errors in our portfolio and connecting them to the underlying issues, and in how delinquencies and our assumptions of future delinquencies affect our servicing business. Additionally, you are responsible for working with cross functional teams to gather requirements for report design, development, and production scheduling.

Depending on your assignment, you will focus on one of the following areas:

  • Trading/Hedging
  • Pricing
  • Analyst

This position is located in Columbia, Missouri.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

Trading/Hedging
  • Manage relationships with broker dealers, correspondents, and vendors.
  • Model outcomes for potential loan scenarios and make assumptions for the business based on those models.
  • Strive to maximize profits for the company through trading and hedging loans.
  • Develop and maintain retain/release methodology.
  • Prepare theoretical hedging and/or trading scenarios using historical data to characterize future behavior.
  • Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.
Pricing
  • Create daily rate sheets that keep us competitive while minimizing monetary risk to the company
  • Perform mortgage servicing rights (MSR) modeling and valuation in order to manager servicing portfolios and determine the value of assets.
  • answer any all and all questions related to locking while providing exceptional customer service
  • Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.
Analyst
  • Prepare and distribute reporting for cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure efficiency of reporting across business units; continually review quality and data integrity for presentations, while retaining proficiency in all relevant reporting-related software.
  • Collect, process, and analyze historical data derived from disaggregated sources.
  • Act as a liaison between Capital Markets and other divisions across the company.
  • Identify errors using data and investigate the underlying root cause
  • Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

  • 2+ years of in-depth Excel, Access, and/or SQL experience
  • Experience in presentation tools, such as Power Point, Word, Visio, etc
  • Skilled in relational database technologies and data modeling tools, such as Access, SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle
  • Ability to synthesize data to identify trends and hypothesize scenarios
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to translate and present quantitative information in professional format
  • 1+ year(s) of data warehouse engineering/architecture experience
  • Highly skilled with data warehouse development tools and business intelligence tools
  • In-depth knowledge of utilizing SQL to query data for analysis
  • Integration experience with enterprise software product
  • Experience implementing or utilizing reporting/business intelligence tools or database applications
  • Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
