JOB DESCRIPTION
What You'll Do:
- Oversee credit policies and risk management strategies to minimize risk and bad loans.
- Maintain support of the bank's credit culture for all significant lending units.
- Oversee and monitor the loan portfolio including analysis of loan concentrations, including building and enhancing analytical models for the loan portfolio including stress test models.
- Serve as a spokesperson on credit matters to the Board of Directors, Associations, other Farm Credit Systems institutions, regulators, and any others as deemed appropriate
- Lead the credit approval process, ensuring loans meet quality standards.
- Provide loan portfolio management oversight to ensure the bank's asset quality meets stated objectives

- Guide the credit risk assessment team in evaluating borrowers' financial health.
- Ensure the loan loss reserve and charge-off procedures are accurate, valid, and meet regulatory and accounting practices.
- Ensure that all loan systems and tracking techniques provide the appropriate information to track loan quality and monitor risk.
- Ensure loan underwriting includes appropriate risk assessment, management and is consistent with the bank's policies and procedures.
- Implement effective systems to identify and address portfolio risks.
- Ensure credit policies are consistently reviewed and modified as necessary.
- Ensure that all loan systems and tracking techniques provide the appropriate information to track loan quality and monitor risk.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions to include economic, industry and climate conditions, competition, and government and regulatory changes.
- Work with Human Resources to acquire talented employees to achieve maximum performance results and profitability.
- Participate in identification, development, and mentoring staff and future leadership of the organization.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or agriculture field. MBA or advanced education preferred and/or certificate from a graduate School of Banking.
- Proven management skills with a minimum of 10 years experience in lending, including 5 years of proven management experience overseeing multiple teams. Prior executive level experience preferred.
- Credit Risk Assessment, Lending Policy Expertise, Problem Loan Management, Financial Statement Analysis, Regulatory knowledge, Collaboration and Leadership, Knowledge of Risk Management Strategies.
