The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of diagnostic medical physics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Applicants must be American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Physics, MQSA.
Teaching responsibilities may include providing imaging physics lectures to radiology residents, medical physics residents and Medical Physics graduate students, and providing hands-on/laboratory training to medical physics residents and graduate students.
Clinical responsibilities may include acceptance and compliance testing of the following modalities: computer tomography, MRI, fluoroscopy, radio graphic, mammography, ultrasound; shielding design and certification; dose alert investigations; staff dosimetry investigations; helping to ensure local, state, and federal regulatory compliance, and compliance with the Joint Commissions and peer-reviewed programs.
Medical physics support of multi-center clinical trials, investigation and support of novel imaging system, and adapting local and national standards of medical physics for use within Penn Radiology.
