Summary:
The Lead Technologist is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows established procedures to ensure laboratory quality control and compliance with professional standards of practice. The Lead Technologist may perform administrative responsibilities of the laboratory section assuming additional technical or non-technical responsibilities as needed.
** Shift- 8:30PM-7AM
- 10 hours per day, 4 days per week. Every other weekend is required.
Responsibilities:
Assists with ongoing compliance and regulatory requirements.May serve as lead of a laboratory section.Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.Observe and instruct student technologists and new or current employees.Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.May assess competency of team members.Provides input in the evaluation of team members performance.May serve as Laboratory Safety and/or Quality Officer.Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.Assists with coordinating services, prioritizing assignments and workflow, and promoting situational decision making/problem solving.

Education and Certification Requirements:
Bachelors: Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Required)Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation. Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Basic knowledge of laboratory information systems. Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: No prior work experience required. Other Information: Licensed as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor.Additional Education Info: Graduated from a NAACLS accredited program. As required by Florida state licensure.Additional Credential Info: Either license is required. Either Clinical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Supervisor Lic. is required
