In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:Functions as a clinical research nutritionist for a translational nutrition and cancer research program. This role supports NIH and American Cancer Society funded clinical trials.
Duties include:
Trial design and regulatory approvals
Development of protocol specific nutrition education plans and related materials
Independently recruiting and screening patients, consenting subjects, completing baseline diet and anthropometric measures, leading nutritional counseling and education and clinical management
Conducts follow up phone contact, and communicates with PIs regarding all aspects of study visits as well as any adverse events
Evaluates and grades toxicities
Participates in the collection, coordination and analysis of research data
Enters all data for all patients enrolled on protocol
Participates in ensuring protocol compliance with all federal sponsor regulations
Participates in implementation process
Assists physician to assess patient reaction to any modifications or treatment that are part of protocol
Documents adverse reactions
Educates patients and their families of purpose, processes and goals of clinical study
Answers questions regarding research protocols and participates in evaluating patients for compliance related to protocol.
Additionally, duties include data summary, analysis and preparation for publications and grant submissions.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in human nutrition & food management or dietetics.
Required Qualifications
Registered Dietitian required; Current State of Ohio license dietitian required
Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Dietetics or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience required
Experience as a dietitian preferred
Master's degree preferred
1 year experience in a clinical research capacity required
Experience in nutritional counseling & broad understanding of issues related to nutritional clinical trials preferred
Requires successful completion of background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
