The Clinical Research Coordinator B is responsible for oversight, execution, and regulatory compliance of human subject research carried out in the Movement Disorders Division of the Neurology Department. The Clinical Research Coordinator B will be recruiting patients as appropriate as outlined in research protocols, will coordinate all research visit activities for assigned projects, and will assist in the maintenance of research database in compliance with HIPAA regulations. They will also interact with physicians, outside
Physicians, patients and community groups to recruit appropriate new patients for research projects. The scope of this job includes coordinating the regulatory aspects of the program, oversight and management of clinical research. The Clinical Research Coordinator
B will also be responsible for training new personnel who will be working on clinical trials within the division as well.
The coordinator must be detail oriented and have prior experience with IRB guidelines and policies and human subject research practices and appropriate professional skills in the execution of research protocols. The Clinical Research Coordinator will generate reports documenting the progress of individual research projects for internal and external use, such as developing patient and community education material and programs based on the research findings.

*Position is contingent on continued funding.

DUTIES:

  • Scheduling new and existing participants for annual/biennial research visit
  • Conducting research visit at Penn's campus, participant's residence, or virtually
  • Maintaining data, records, and other documents related to studies
  • Acting as a point of reference for study participants
  • Project lead on research projects as needed
  • Attending relevant meetings, events, and seminars


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (required)

Must be able to exercise discretion with confidential information (required)

Highly organized and flexible (required)

Ability to work independently and on a team (required)

Previous research experience, 2-3 years (required)

Comfort and sensitivity to an elderly and impaired patient population (required)

Knowledge of PC applications (Microsoft Office, Epic, SPSS, etc.) (preferred)

Current and active driver's license (required)

Working Conditions

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
