Clinical Research Coordinator A

Job Description Summary
This position will assist in the management of multiple clinical trials. The coordinator will be responsible for managing subject enrollment for all clinical trials at our center. This will include identification, initial outreach, education of patients and family members, discussion of the trial and expectations, review of informed consent, and answering any patient questions. The coordinator will also be responsible for thoroughly reviewing patient medical history and the inclusion/exclusion criteria for each study. They will work closely with the Principal Investigator, manager, and study team to ensure that all potential subjects pass eligibility review prior to screening. They will then communicate with the lead study coordinator to initiate screening of potential subjects.

This position will also manage the collection, processing, storing, and shipping of biological samples, following protocol and laboratory guidance. They will assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and filing, collection and maintenance of study documents, ordering and stocking of supplies, and maintenance of equipment. The coordinator will assist with clinical data collection, including vital signs, ECGs, and questionnaires. They will assure compliance with the protocol and regulatory requirements, including recording, maintaining data and source documents, and data entry.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing subject enrollment for all studies. This includes identification of potential subjects, initial outreach, education of patients and family members, discussion of the trial, review of informed consent. They will work closely with the PI to confirm passing of eligibility review prior to screening.
• Assist with collection, processing, storage, and shipping of biological samples following protocol and laboratory instructions.
• Assist with IRB submissions, collection and maintenance of study documents, ordering and stocking of supplies, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with collection and recording of clinical data, maintaining source documents, and data entry .
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Hiring range minimum for this position is $44,947.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience directly related to clinical research operations or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills required
• Able to work collaboratively on all levels and to gain support of others
• Able to confidently interact with all levels of management including senior management, physician leaders and others
• Demonstrated complex problem solving abilities
• Strong innovative skills
• Excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
• Must be flexible, detail oriented, and organized
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Thorough knowledge relevant regulations for the conduct of clinical trials including Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), International Conference of Harmonization (ICH) Guidelines. Knowledge of funding policies, NIH, and other grant procedures is desired.)
