Our client is a well-respected Manhattan-based High-End Residential General Contractor that specializes in the interior renovation of townhouses, apartments and rooftop additions in Manhattan, New York State, Long Island and Connecticut. The average value of the projects undertaken is $8MM.
Your new role
Due to the continued growth and success, they are in a position where they are looking to bring on-board an experienced Construction Estimator to join them out of their Manhattan office. This is a great opportunity to join an expanding team with an established portfolio that incorporates some of the most exclusive project work in New York City's residential sector. You can expect the following on a day-to-day basis:
- Analyzing and interpreting architectural plans / blueprints
- Breaking down the scope of works
- Performing material take-offs
- Obtaining quotes from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Providing detailed proposals and accurate bid packages
- Negotiating with vendors and clients and attending meetings with staff, architects and clients.
- Value engineering projects
- Attending site visits
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role as a High-end Residential Construction Estimator, you should have at least 3 years' experience in the industry delivering conceptual, lump-sum, or negotiated estimates for a range of high-end residential projects. You will be able to build on existing subcontractor relationships and, ideally, have an engineering, architecture or construction management degree.
