We are a progressive manufacturer of PET beverage bottles, supplying the Coca-Cola bottling system on the East Coast and in the Midwest. We have a proven track record of stability and sustained growth over the past 30 years, and are looking for candidates for the following position:

Corporate Q.A. Lab Technician

JOB TITLE: Corporate Q.A. Lab Technician

REPORTS TO: Corporate Quality Improvement & Lab Manager

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for supporting the production, customer service, and research & development needs of the Company. In addition, provide support to in-line customers as requested with both lab testing and line trials. In a level II position, perform additional duties as specified below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform routine laboratory tests, which are required for qualification purposes for all SEC commodities. This testing should be conducted utilizing NR-PET test standards from Coca-Cola.

2. Set up and operate key equipment in preparation for subsequent lab tests. The technician should have a thorough knowledge of operating laboratory equipment. In addition, follow departmental SOP's for proper maintenance of equipment such as microscopes, balances, and automated equipment.

3. Follow departmental SOP's for test procedure, equipment validation, and maintenance of equipment such as microscopes, balances, and automated equipment.

4. Perform R&R capability analysis on lab equipment for yearly assessment. Technician should determine equipment capability by utilizing Six Sigma analysis tools.

5. Prepare chemical solutions used for lab testing which may include reagents and chemicals. Technician should be able to follow formulations to achieve proper dilution and PPM outcomes.

6. Maintains MSDS sheets for laboratory chemicals and products.

7. Conduct verification of all lab equipment to ensure accuracy of measurements. Technician should be able to troubleshoot equipment in case of inaccurate verification.

8. Have the ability to effectively interact with all Quality Assurance Lab customers (bottlers, product development, senior staff, and production employees) and assist them with their needs. This includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting problems, responding to questions, running tests at bottling locations, and being an accessible resource to the customer.

9. Demonstrate the use of creative thinking to improve the process in the Quality Assurance Lab. Maintain a working knowledge of the production process in all areas and suggest improvements that will impact the quality of the products produced by Southeastern Container.

10. Work towards Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

11. Comply with all activities related to product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality.

12. Maintain SharePoint and GainSeeker software as it relates to Quality. This includes but is not limited to, the Lab Test Request System, Customer Issues Database, Hertzler template writing, and Hertzler part numbers.
