Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Under executive direction, this position is responsible for directing, managing and coordinating the UCH Education and Resource Development Department (ERDD). Oversees the planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating of a variety of team member, patient and community education programs as provided by self or in collaboration with physicians, administrators, department managers and other healthcare team members. Assists with performance improvement initiatives and leadership and development.

Qualifications
Education & Training: Registered Nurse with current RN licensure in the State of Maryland. BS degree required. Masters Degree in Nursing, Education, or Human Resources required. Certification as an Instructor in BCLS or ACLS preferred within one year of hire.
Work Orientation & Experience: A minimum of five years experience in the formal provision of education with expertise in applying the principles of adult education. Orientation is based on current knowledge level and may take up to 8 weeks of orientation to gain specific requirements to perform essential job functions.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with customers. Demonstrates ability and skills in independent decision making, delegation, coaching, planning, management and leadership. Demonstrates effective teaching and evaluation skills. Demonstrates skill problem solving organizing work, setting priorities and meeting deadlines with attention to detail and follow through. Demonstrates computer literacy with word processing and presentation software.
