Job Description Summary

This position provides Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) leadership for the manufacturing facilities by establishing and implementing strategies to improve and maintain FSQ standards, goals, and objectives. It supports the Operations Platform by ensuring FSQ programs, specifications, and procedures are aligned, maintained, and are fully functional. Focus areas for this position includes oversight and management of the Corporate Quality Management platform, FSQ continuous improvement, systems for FSQ evaluations, training, and achievement of key FSQ metrics.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership and support of the Plant FSQ Master Plan program.
  • Management and support of the Lamb Weston Quality Management Systems.
  • Responsible for all aspects of managing the assigned Corporate Quality Assurance team supporting Operations.
  • Provides Leadership in technological advancements in quality evaluation.
  • Provides support to all manufacturing facilities through process and procedure standards, gap analysis, recommending changes and subsequent implementation with training to achieve compliance of set standards and goals.
  • Supports all Food Safety and Quality related projects and initiatives throughout the entire LW Supply Chain.
  • Responsible for the Process Quality training program and certification process.
  • Ensures Plant programs align with Corporate and customer requirements.
  • Supports new product commercialization through initial production.
  • Supports corrective actions at the Corporate and Operations level as Quality and Food Safety deficiencies are identified.
  • Supports and fosters the relationship with and utilization of Food Safety platform COE resources to mitigate risk to our customer and the Lamb Weston Brand.
  • Provides leadership in the attainment of Corporate Quality objectives and metrics.
  • Develops and supports Quality and Food Safety continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Supports determination & implementation of product dispositions regarding holds, warehouse, transport, & logistics issues in relation to Quality and Food Safety.
  • Acts as supporting member of Recall and Withdrawal management.
  • Supports the "Core-4", "Journey to Zero" and veLOCity (LOC) platforms through FSQ global pillar leadership.
  • Provides Quality technical support to the Plants, Sales, and Customers.
  • Supports investigation and corrective actions for consumer/customer complaint resolution working with the Commercial Quality Team.
  • Assists in ensuring Plant traceability and recall system is effective.
  • Provides support to operations during GFSI and customer audits.
  • Provides Leadership in the development and attainment of FSQ strategic objectives and the Journey Map work streams.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in Food Science, Business/Operations Management or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years Food Safety and/or Quality Assurance experience in food industry required.
  • Excellent understanding of IQF potato manufacturing.
  • Experience with Food Safety and Quality Assurance systems and databases.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with using a full range of statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals.
  • Excellent potato product quality attribute evaluation skills.
  • Process Quality (PQ) certification preferred.
  • Proficient using Microsoft office applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestic and international as a responsible, independent representative of Lamb Weston.

    Physical Requirements:
    Incumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance:
  • Sitting for up to 8 hours a day
  • Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (up to 40 pounds infrequently).
  • Walking on various manufacturing facility surfaces
  • Climbing up ladders and stairs
  • Exposed to plant noises and vibrations
  • Temperature changes from hot to cold depending on work area
  • Ability safely operate a Company vehicle.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $138,750.00 - $208,120.00
