Engineering Team Leader

Relocation Assistance is Available

Lafayette, Indiana

This position is for an Engineering Team Leader on the diesel 3500 Electric Power Platform team. This role manages multiple or complex engineering projects involving multiple functions, organizations, products, or value chains.

What you will do:

  • Be the platform leader for current product Electric Power 3500 diesel engines
  • Lead CPI projects and facilitate relevant L3-led CPI projects
  • Coordinate job control agent responsibilities, maintain engine arrangement bills of material and price list compatibility, and direct engineering change management at all affected facilities
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum is desired.

Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Top Candidates will also have:
  • Demonstrated leadership

  • Experience with diesel engines and generator sets

  • This position is located in Lafayette, IN
  • Travel up to 10% is possible with this position
  • Relocation is available for this position

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
