Job Description:
Two newly created part-time positions that are a fusion of a Cook and Server/Food Service Assistant!
Work hours are 6:45 am - 3:15 pm, working 40 hours every 2 week pay period with every other weekend/holiday off. Pay is $16.58/hour + $3/shift differential = $19.58, earned while you work! Commuting bonus of $200 available to those who drive 30+ miles to work, .

This position will perform, but will not be limited to, the following job duties:
Prepare, season, cook and portion food such as sauces, soups, meats, salads, baked goods, vegetables for regular and modified diets according to menus and recipes; practice food conservation and proper storage or reuse of leftovers. Can assist with organization and management of the food. Responsible for nourishments and the preparation of snacks. Recognizes quality characteristics of food and uses standard preparation procedures and sanitary techniques for high quality food.
Responsible for cleanliness of work area and equipment and completing special cleaning assignments.
Responsible for cooking foods by using a grill, oven, steam equipment, mixer, blender, slicer, Robot Coupe, Blast Chiller, etc.
Know the safety factor of each piece of equipment and operate it accordingly. Maintain equipment in sanitary proper working condition and report any equipment not in working order to a supervisor.
May direct the production tasks to a limited degree. In absence of Food Service Supervisor, will handle minor problems and direct tasks of employees to accomplish all duties. Assist in training of new hires.
Knowledge of: cooking techniques for meats, soups, salads and baked goods; food sanitation practices; the proper handling and processing of a variety of vegetables and fruits; kitchen equipment and utensils; kitchen safety practices; facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities; facility food preparation schedules.

Minimum Qualifications:
Food Service Worker: Coursework, training and/or experience in food preparation, baking and/or kitchen operations in the food service industry or related field.
Food Service Assistant: There are no specific education or experience requirements.
Other: Must be 18 years old.
Will be responsible for portioning and serving food for the Neighborhood Home Kitchen(s). Will assist in serving of members. Understand the importance of production sheets for accuracy of foods and portion sizes served. Know all modified diets and any combination of these diets. Follow set procedures in portioning foods, temperature recording and serving food/beverages according to menu and member diet and food preferences. Will serve meals: portioning, temperature recording and serving food/beverages according to menu and member diet and food preferences. May assist in the Fox Hole or other work areas. Practices food conservation and proper storage of leftovers. Responsible for assisting in stocking food supplies in member households and be responsible for delivery of food carts to member units.Operate automatic dish machine; scrape and prepare pots, pans and utensils for washing; wash, air dry pots, pans and utensils and return clean articles to storage area.Knowledge of: personal hygiene; basic kitchen equipment supplies and utensils; basic food stuffs such as fruits, vegetables, bakery goods, meats and poultry; food preparation procedures for salads, sandwiches, short order items and other routinely prepared foods; facility standards and procedures for the cleaning of dishes, utensils, equipment and facilities; food sanitation and food preparation schedules.
