JOB SUMMARY:
Must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to follow instructions (written & verbal), safely and accurately complete assigned duties, and maintain company standards. Responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, receiving materials and products, and picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and/or shipping products using forklift and pallet jack. Maintain receiving/shipping logs and makes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition. Move materials to the production area using the FIFO standard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Receive material.
- Moving material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate and promote a solution based positive attitude in meeting goals and objectives.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained with an eye for detail.
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Deliver quality products and services through adherence to company standards and operating procedures.
- Must pass forklift written test and driving skills test.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
Requires six months previous forklift experience in a big box environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Distribution Environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups to a maximum of 50 pounds.
OTHER ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS NOT LISTED ABOVE INCLUDE:
Reading, writing, basic English communication, basic math skills.
MACHINES/TOOLS USED:
Forklifts, electric and manual floor jacks, computer systems, and other department specific tools.
