The Global Logistics Planner is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the organization's shipping logistics from start to finish. This position ensures the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. This requires involvement and an understanding of transportation, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods. A strong understanding of the specifications/requirements from Manufacturing, Purchasing, and the improvement of transportation related processes is required. A confident grasp of the whole supply chain is required to coordinate effectively with suppliers of raw materials, and manufacturers. Attention to detail is extremely critical, and communication internally and externally will be continuous.

This role is full-time, exempt, and is required to be on-site in Bozeman, MT.

Responsibilities:

Task Management: The Global Logistics Planner will organize, task, and monitor external resources in order to achieve on time delivery, reduce costs, and develop resiliency in the supply chain.

  • Have a knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and programs, HTS code development and maintenance, US and International Customs compliance.
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency to insure on-time delivery to the customer at a competitive cost.
  • Communicate and negotiate with customers and suppliers as the forward face of Mystery Ranch in a professional, effective and timely manner.
  • Handle technical preparation and details of international shipping documentation and requested customer documentation changes to ensure on-time delivery, efficient customs clearance, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively communicate status, issues, and resolutions to entire team. Track all shipments and update any parties that need the info (customer, freight forwarder, finance, operations, et al).
  • Partner with ERP team in order to leverage business systems to gain efficiencies, compliance and reporting of all logistics related tasks and documentation.
  • Partner with Accounting on invoicing and accounts receivable to troubleshoot issues and unforeseen requirements to ensure timely payment from customers.
  • Define packaging and shipping volumes for produced product for shipment and warehouse space analysis.
  • Send daily fulfillments to 3pl partners and assist them with problem resolution.
  • Review monthly 3pl invoices for accuracy and opportunity for cost reduction.

Continuous Improvement: The Global Logistics Planner will evaluate the current process, plan improvements for the future process, and evaluate the impact of the improvements.
  • Create and maintain ongoing process to analyze and develop strategies for each transportation category (i.e. Inbound, Outbound, Sea, Air, Truck, etc.)
  • Create policies or procedures for logistics activities and keep data current and accessible for all vendors, customers, countries, as needed.
  • Continually develop internal and external resources, improving their knowledge skills, and abilities as business partners.
  • Leverage the internal ISO 9001 procedures to drive continual improvements.
  • Conduct timely evaluations of peers.
  • Work with domestic SCM team to ensure proper logistics channels are being used.
Develop quality risk management solutions: The Global Logistics Planner will implement standard practices to identify potential business risks pertaining to logistics, and implement changes to reduce those risks.
  • Understanding of business drivers that may impact cost/performance/viability of the supplier contract.
  • Able to assess all risk factors and focuses in on relevant ones
  • Detailed risk management analysis, risk migration strategies and execution

Data Accuracy & Management: The Global Logistics Planner will establish performance metrics, collect data related to those metrics, and evaluate progress on a quarterly basis.
  • Establish specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
  • Use data to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.
  • Establish and maintain metrics, reports, process documentation (service and delivery performance) of logistics partners.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Relevant Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience of relevant supply chain logistics.
  • Knowledge of products and construction, procedures, and policies.
  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate across multiple teams (internal & external, domestic & international)
  • Significant knowledge of international business processes including INCO terms, Letters of Credit, etc.
  • Ability to quickly adjust priorities while maintaining established quality standards.
