About the job:

The Home Health Aide's role is to ensure that our clients receive assistance with personal cares and activities of daily living so that they remain safe in their homes. Our office is located at the Homestead of Rochester campus. We serve clients both on the campus and within 35 miles of Rochester.

Career Description:

• Travel to and from the client's home.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as dressing, grooming or bathing as needed.
• Light housekeeping.
• Work under the supervision of a care manager.
• Follow the home health aide plan of care.
• Document all cares given and pertinent observations. Report any observations to the care manager.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and the home exercise program.
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect per agency policy.

Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and carry out directions.
• The ability to work with independently and be responsible for the cares assigned.
• Have demonstrated dependability, tact, and ability to follow orders.
• Possess strength, coordination and dexterity required to provide client care.
• Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Preferred Skills:

• CPR Certified preferred, but not required.
• Caregiving experience in home health or a facility preferred, but not required.
• CNA certification preferred, but not required.
