Insurance Verifications Specialist

Our client is a busy Medical office located in Tarpon Springs. They are seeking a an Insurance Verification Specialist to join their team to verify insurance for clinic and outpatient surgery appointments. Must have the ability to counsel patients regarding their financial cost share for procedures and collecting payment prior to procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Adding and updating patient insurance primary and/ or secondary insurance in EHR
  • Verifying patient eligibility via payer websites or telephone to determine coverage of benefits and calculate patient responsibility for services
  • Data entry
  • Reviewing patient deductibles and/ or copays
  • Entering insurance referrals as needed
  • Adhering to HIPPA guidelines ad regulations

Qualifications:
  • Must have a solid understanding of medical insurance including deductibles, copay and coinsurance is highly preferred
  • / Hour Experience verifying and interrupting medical benefits for Medicare, Medicaid and major commercial health insurance and secondary payers required
  • Understanding medical terminology and ICD- codes and Diagnosis
  • Experience in processing provider referrals and prior authorization requests
  • Ensuring complete and accurate information maintained in patient account including authorization or referral received from payer or Primary Care Physician
  • Familiar with individual payer guidelines and authorization / referral requirements based on insurance plans and if needed communicating with insurance companies via phone and/ or website to provide any supporting clinical documentation needed to complete authorization process
  • Must have strong people skills
  • Proficiency in MS Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook

Pay Rate : $18-$19/ Hour

Hours: Flexible between 7AM - 5PM Monday - Friday

Full time and/ or part time hours available
