Job Title: System Architect

Job Summary:

The IT Technical Lead provides advanced technical leadership and IT support services. This role involves designing, planning, and implementing integrated IT solutions that align with business objectives and long-term strategic goals. The position requires expertise in IT architecture to solve complex technical challenges. The IT Technical Lead works closely with department managers, IT staff, vendors, and contractors, offering guidance, advice, and solutions. While the role does not include direct supervision of staff, it involves providing work direction and coordination across technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Development: Analyze and develop innovative solutions for complex business challenges.
• System Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of IT systems.
• Emerging Technology Research: Stay current with emerging technologies and prototype new solutions to enhance IT services.
• IT Standards Promotion: Advocate for and enforce the use of campus-wide IT standards to ensure consistency and efficiency in service delivery.
• Strategic Planning: Assist in formulating IT strategies, policies, and processes to ensure alignment with long-term business goals.
• Team Leadership: Manage technical teams focused on addressing specific IT issues, guiding efforts to deliver solutions effectively.
• Business Needs Awareness: Maintain a deep understanding of business needs and long-term goals to ensure that IT initiatives are aligned with the institution's objectives.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in IT systems management, infrastructure design, and service delivery.
• Willingness to travel overnight for project delivery and flexibility in working hours to accommodate client schedules and project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field.

Technical Skills and Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of IT systems management, infrastructure design, and integration.
• Expertise in IT service delivery methodologies, industry best practices, and campus-specific policies and procedures.

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, QEMU).
• Familiarity with networking technologies (e.g., switches, routers, wireless access points).
• Knowledge of enterprise-class storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS, DAS).
• Experience with compliance frameworks.
