Maintenance Manager
About The Site
Lackawanna Energy Center is a nominal 1500 MW combined cycle power generation facility using GE's 7HA gas turbine platform. The facility is located in the borough of Jessup, Pennsylvania (near Scranton, PA).
Position Overview
As the Maintenance Manager you will direct a team of technicians in the preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment at a combined cycle power plant. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is part of a management team that is responsible for the safe, efficient, fiscally sound, and environmentally conscientious operation and maintenance of the facility, including all supporting properties and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example in all areas, ensuring standards are maintained about personnel and safety, stewardship of the plant, equipment availability, and teamwork.
- Determine, develop, and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies for the plant in coordination with the Management Team.
- Create and maintain a maintenance schedule for all predictive and preventative maintenance activities with the goal of maximizing availability.
- Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of all maintenance outages, including work performed by contractors and subcontractors.
- Work collaboratively to maintain and continually improve a predictive maintenance program, including oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, etc.
- Administer the site computerized maintenance management system (EAM), maintain this system, and audit and manage the EAM backlog of work orders.
- Coordinate the identification of critical spare parts and their procurement and manage this inventory in a manner consistent with plant needs.
- Develop and continually improve maintenance procedures.
- Act as the Duty Manager in rotation with other managers.
- Observe, document, coach and provide frequent feedback to personnel regarding O&M Technician performance.
- Administer the training and qualifications for the technical skills training programs including electrical, instrument and controls and mechanical.
- Implement and manage the plants FERC/NERC compliance policies, programs, and procedures to maintain compliance of plant protective systems with FERC/NERC requirements.
- Perform routine audits of spare parts and materials in accordance with plant procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the power generation industry.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with EAM or similar maintenance management tracking software, preferably associated with power plant maintenance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree a plus.
- Knowledge of combined cycle power plant maintenance and operations is preferred. Commissioning experience in a combined cycle facility a plus.
- Specific knowledge of the maintenance requirements of 7FA or 7HA combustion turbines a plus.
- Ability to handle daily communication of expectations, coach employees, provide feedback and work collaboratively with plant staff.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees and use verbal and written communication to communicate objectives and action plans.
- High degree of flexibility and the capacity to work in a rapidly changing and ambiguous environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
