Maintenance Mechanic, 3rd Shift

The third shift Maintenance Mechanic maintains production facility and equipment to insure safe and quality products by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment; and providing support to equipment such as HV/AC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration system, blenders, processing and packaging equipment. The position is located in our South Holland, IL plant, Ed Miniat LLC

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment and completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Controls downtime by ascertaining needed repairs and parts replacement, and completing repairs in timely fashion
• Fabricates repair parts by machining items to specification as necessary
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levels
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
• Bilingual preferred
• Minimum three to five years related maintenance experience
• Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, and PLCs
• Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
• Valid state driver's license
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift in excess of 40 pounds daily, 15-20% of the day
• Able to tolerate extreme temperatures, 60-70% of the day
• Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
• Able to occasionally climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipment
