Position Overview

The MCAD Technician is responsible for providing R&D engineers by creating models and drawings for prototype designs of new products and for sustaining support of existing designs. This individual will be designing, verifying, validating, and troubleshooting the processes. The successful candidate is a creative problem solver who can effectively collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.

• Draft designs and convert engineers' designs into working computer documents, using computer-aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment.

• Collaborate with engineering staff to determine design modifications and enter editing information into computer.

• Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications

• Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in engineering

• Minimum 2 years' experience in computer-aided design (CAD).

• Proficient in use of MS Office, including Word, Visio, Project etc.

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure production goals are met.

• Ability to stand for several hours

• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently

• Familiarity with subsea splicing components
