Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Secretary II to join our OBGYN healthcare team in Pikesville. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to medical staff while ensuring efficient office operations and exceptional patient service.

  • Process patient registration, insurance verification, and ensuring the completion of office paperwork
  • Scanning medical documentation
  • Handle medical correspondence, reports, and confidential patient records
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Collect Copays, Patient Balances and complete End of the Day Collection Reports
  • Perform Real Time Eligibility for Insurances in advance of visit
  • Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Answer and direct phone calls, responding to patient inquiries professionally
  • Scheduling appointments in the office and managing the Wait List for appointments
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare policies
  • Process insurance claims and handle related correspondence

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare administrative role
  • Medical Secretary certification preferred
  • Medical coding certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with medical scheduling software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical billing and insurance procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy in data entry
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
