Introduction to role
The Metrology & Maintenance Specialist will use their technical expertise to lead measurement systems and conduct technical investigations related to the science of measurement and mechanical concepts. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our instruments and equipment.

Accountabilities
You will develop, improve, and standardize calibration & maintenance procedures to boost instrument and maintenance performance testing. They will apply LEAN principles, define, and implement industry standard processes to enhance effective solving and diagnostics of instrumentation and equipment. The incumbent will facilitate problem-solving meetings related to instrumentation and mechanical breakdowns and assess preventative and corrective actions. They will also play a meaningful role during site audits by coordinating and handling audit requests associated with the Maintenance and Metrology department. Monitoring Maintenance and Metrology CAPA compliance to ensure the department meets quality, safety, and industry regulations is also a key responsibility. Also, responsibilities include administrative activities, technical readjustment, scheduling, planning, and project coordination within the Metrology and Maintenance department.

Essential Skills/Experience
• Associates degree required, preferably in Science, Engineering, or other related technical field
• 5+ years of electronics and instrumentation calibration experience
• 5+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or similar regulated industry experience
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent root cause analysis and identifying corrective and preventive actions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with shown ability to meet targets
• Ability to direct and participate in cross-functional teams to perform investigations
• Quality record management
• Knowledge of GMP or regulated production environment
• Basic Project Management capabilities

Desirable Skills/Experience
• Mechanical and instrumentation troubleshooting experience
• Lean and Six Sigma or other problem-solving certification
• Project management experience
• Planning and organizing skills
• Excellent data analyst abilities
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of Calibration & Metrology principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, BMRAM, Maximo, EAM, or other relevant electronic systems
