WDH Dover Family Practice

At Dover Family Practice, it is our mission to offer personal and compassionate care to help individuals and families achieve their best health. We are located at a state-of-the art facility in Dover with on-site lab and imaging services. We offer a patient centered model of care.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time, 26-hour Medical Assistant to support the Dover Family Practice located at 10 Members Way, Dover NH. The firm schedule for the Medical Assistant will be Monday from 7:00am-5:30pm, Tuesday from 7:00am-5:30pm and Wednesday from 7:45am-2:15pm.

At our practice, Medical Assistants work 1 to 1 with their assigned Provider, allowing a strong partnership to be formed. We find that this structure enhances communication, improves efficiency, and personalizes patient care, ultimately leading to a better experience for all parties involved.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, point of care testing, immunizations, procedures, and treatments as directed)
  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refills, coordination of care, etc.)
  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.
We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support.

Qualifications
Qualifications

When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only the relevant skills and competencies, but also positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work. We have the resources to mentor and train on the job to set our employees up for success.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently working as Medical Assistant with minimum of one year of experience, or successful completion of Medical Assistant School/Program or have completed comparable training within discipline of EMT or equivalent military training.
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Family Practice or Pediatric setting
  • Must obtain a national Medical Assistant certification within 1 year of employment.
  • AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days of hire
