Position Schedule:

• Work hours: 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM with a paid break, Monday through Friday.

Contract Details:

• This role offers a guaranteed contract valid through the end of the academic year.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to students, focusing on both behavioral and academic areas, and assist in the execution of effective educational programs as designated by their case manager.
• Offer assistance in instructional activities and cater to the special needs of students, which encompasses feeding, toileting, positioning, and monitoring the health conditions of students with disabilities.

Essential Functions:

• Deliver instructional support as directed by the teacher in various domains such as cognitive abilities, motor skills, self-care, and behavior management.
• Aid the teacher in ensuring the health and safety of students with physical disabilities by monitoring the environment and potential risks.
• Support students with personal care tasks, including hygiene, toileting, and changing as necessary.
• Oversee and manage student behavior in line with established protocols.
• Collaborate with specialists in facilitating physical development exercises.
• Prepare students for inclusion in mainstream classes following set guidelines.
• Participate in training sessions and in-service programs related to medical care and educational strategies as required.
• Help students with orthopedic devices, aiding in their movement and positioning.
• Maintain records that track student progress and assist the teacher in documentation.
• Apply positive behavior intervention strategies and support policies.
• Work in conjunction with case managers, general education teachers, and other staff members as required.
• Facilitate and enhance students' social interactions.
