St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Prep Cook for Ruth's Marketplace. The Prep Cook provides direct culinary support to chefs by executing recipes, assisting with catering service orders, and providing Marketplace station meal service. This may include preparation and service of omelet and wellness cook-to-order stations, assisting the bakery and salad departments, and preparing menu items for daily meal plan service and catering.

This position will generally work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, and rotate working every 6th weekend.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• 1-2 years experience as a line cook and prior work in a high-volume food service setting is preferred.

• Food Service Sanitation Certification or ability to obtain on-the-job

• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

• Ability to interact politely and resolve customer service issues.

• Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

• Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

• Ability to exercise good judgement and decisions in an expeditious manner.

• Skilled at setting a good example for others.

• Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment.

• Ability to pass a post offer functional capacity test.

• Position will need to stand and walk for most of the shift. Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 30 lbs occasionally. Will need to perform kitchen actions such as bending, reaching, grasping, slicing, chopping, etc.
