Project Manager, Learning Organization

As part of an internal professional development team, the Project Manager, manages the development schedules and quality standards for learning solutions. Responsible for tracking and reporting learning and development project status, maintaining development project schedules, and incorporating process improvements into responsibilities matrix (RACI) for the internal professional development team. Designs and performs comprehensive quality reviews (substantive and copy editing reviews) for learning solutions for ABS employees and clients. This role works closely with development team leads to ensure that learning materials are clear, accurate, and ready for production and distribution.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee learning development project planning meetings and provide progress reports to LO management.
  • Propose development schedules for new projects to LO management.
  • Assess required elements of learning solutions to ensure they have been developed and reviewed.
  • Design and execute quality reviews of learning deliverables and ensures final deliverables meet or exceed established accuracy, consistency, instructional design, and quality standards.
  • Analyze learning materials to ensure they are well-written and logically structured.
  • Develop and maintain LO editing style guide and ensure learning materials align with the style guide.
  • Develop and document quality review plans based on learning requirements and specifications.
  • Document results and compare with expected results.
  • Determine and consolidate quality review best practices.
  • Check facts and potential legal issues, and raise queries with the development team, as needed.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as an editor or quality assurance specialist, preferably working in the learning field.
  • Project management experience and experience working in a production team environment preferred.
  • Marine engineering or oil and gas background a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multi-task by working on multiple projects while staying focused on quality, deadlines, budget expectations, and business results.
  • Demonstrate strong skill set for design documentation, sequencing content, and determining appropriate learning strategies
  • Demonstrates flexibility and critical thinking skills when managing changes in scope, implementation, timelines, and priority of a project.
  • Demonstrates the ability to problem solve and work in team environment.
  • Demonstrates effective verbal communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Demonstrates a meticulous approach to work and attention to detail.
  • Is action oriented. Should be able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Exhibits excellent written English, including spelling and grammar.
  • Demonstrates excellent software skills in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with MS Project or Wrike.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with the Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System as it applies to the HR function.
Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to the Sr Manager, Learning.
