JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Inspector will foster our Quality Policy of Total Customer Value (TCV). They will monitor, inspect, and test the quality of manufactured parts to ensure all internal and external requirements for our customers are met or exceeded. The QC Inspector will be a detail-oriented individual that works well in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs qualified NDT (non-destructive testing) according to written instructions for radiographic (film) and liquid penetrant methods.
    • Qualification per ASNT SNT-TC-1A and NAS410
    • Perform specific setups, specific evaluations, conduct tests, interpret, and evaluate results for acceptance or rejection per written criteria.
    • Be knowledgeable of the codes, standards, and other documents governing the methods used.
    • Must have sufficient education, training, and experience to meet certification requirements.
  • Inspects product to verify compliance:
    • Visual Inspections with and without magnification
    • Dimensional Inspections of machined and formed parts.
    • Inspections of tight tolerance machined components
    • Proficient with traditional metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, pi tape, indicators, etc.)
  • Prepares certification packages as needed for customers:
    • - CofC, CMTR, FAIR, Customer Required Documentation, Etc.
    • - Enters and manages information in Customer Quality Portals.
  • Receiving inspection of raw materials and components.
  • Inputs data into ERP & Data systems (Macola, MS Office, etc).
  • Collects and analyzes data (re-work, scrap, non-conformances, and corrective actions).
  • Interacts with manufacturing associates, vendors, source inspectors and auditors on a consistent basis.
  • Coordinates with Vendors for outside QC services.
  • Performs simple calibrations and keeps up with calibration schedules.
  • Interacts with multiple departments to ensure compliance.
  • Follows, creates, and updates all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Participates in annual internal audits.
  • Support and / or lead MRB team breakouts.
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and as necessary recommend adjustments or actions to obtain conforming product.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Actively participates on a Safety Team and follows all safety requirements.
  • Takes part in continuous improvement initiatives and innovation ideation.
  • Engages in daily production meetings and department ROPE walks.
  • Utilizes an analytical, logical thought process and has meticulous attention to detail.
  • Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • NDE Certifications strongly preferred: PT,VT, RT
  • 2+ years of quality inspector experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Automotive or Aerospace quality experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings required.
  • Experience with traditional metrology tools required.
  • Prior experience in non-destructive examination (Liquid Penetrant and Radiographic Testing) preferred.
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Teams) or similar software required.
  • Demonstrates great inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.
