Department Purpose
The Real Estate Group advises on the full range of investment, development, and financing deals in relation to real estate assets. The group has extensive experience of working through the investment lifecycle from acquisition to divestment, across the capital stack, and in both downstream and upstream transactions.

Role Purpose
The Real Estate Knowledge Management Attorney will be an experienced real estate lawyer who will help to continue the development, implementation and maintenance of the knowledge strategy for the Real Estate Practice Group in New York and will assist the Practice Group Leader, on a limited basis, with general responsibilities related to the Real Estate Practice Group. This position reports directly to the Real Estate Practice Group Leader (RE PGL) and will work closely with the RE PGL to implement and execute relevant firm and practice group initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining knowledge management resources including drafting and updating templates, collecting and
  • curating precedents for real estate agreements and frequently used legal documents, and developing practice guides
  • and checklists and sharing such resources with the Real Estate Practice Group.
  • Tracking and analyzing changes in laws and regulations and other relevant information to the Real Estate Practice.
  • Updating and collating information relating to the real estate market.
  • Research and drafting client alerts and articles.
  • Supporting the training function, including preparing training materials, for both legal matters and resource training.
  • Participating in testing, assessment, implementation, training and building awareness around new research and legal
  • tech tools to elevate lawyer efficiency.
  • Serving as the principal practice group resource for large firm initiatives such as the Document Management System,
  • Intranet and more.
  • Working with Knowledge Management Attorneys across the firm to share ideas and collaborate on firm projects.
  • Assisting on corporate management matters for clients.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
Key Requirements
  • Minimum of five years' U.S. Real Estate practice experience at a top tier law firm.
  • Prior experience as a Knowledge Management Attorney preferred but not required.
  • Admitted to the New York bar and in good standing.
  • Strong drafting and research skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and legal technology tools.
Physical Activity/Other Miscellaneous
  • Part-time position (28 hours/week).
  • Ability to work outside standard business hours as needed.
