Who are we looking for?

GHD is looking for a Water Market Leader to provide a vision and direction for the water marketing in the Mid-Continent region. Primary functions will be: business development relating to the Mid-Continent Water Market, promoting growth and sustainable profitability, promote the shared vision of the Strategic Plan for both GHD and the Mid-Continent, design and execution of a strategy to increase GHDs market share of private and public sector water clients across the water market direction, coordination and mentoring of water business development tools and processes within the business and technical leadership in projects as required and direction and input on major tenders/bids or proposals.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Leading and supporting the water business development conducted in the Mid-Continent
  • Play a significant role in developing GHD's business in the Regions particularly ensuring a focus on creating medium and long term opportunities for GHD to realize
  • Assess market trends and strategize (greater than six months forward) towards future projects
  • Drive and coordinate business development/marketing in the Mid-Continent Region in consultation with Regional Management leadership
  • Promote relationships with existing and potential clients. Increase business by improving client relationships and strengthening repeat business. Expand client base by promoting GHD's services proactively for the market in the region
  • Act as Project Director on appropriate projects sourced either individually or through OC/regional referral
  • Identify areas of practice, based on client feedback or market trends (service lines) that require enhancement to meet present or future market opportunities
  • Liaison and business development assistance where required outside of North America
What you bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar technical field
  • Minimum 20+ years of progressive experience in the delivery of water/wastewater/stormwater projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • A strong technical background and experience in resourcing, leading and delivering projects is beneficial for this role
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a real passion for developing people
  • Strong focus on client service
