The Behavior Change for Good (BCFG) Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania, led by Professors Katherine Milkman and Angela Duckworth, is conducting large-scale field experiments designed to promote sustained behavior change across multiple domains. Our world-class team of scientific experts can continually test and improve behavior change programs by seamlessly incorporating the latest insights from their research into massive random-assignment experiments. The Research and Communications Coordinator will work closely with BCFG leadership on the conducting of behavior change interventions across a wide variety of settings and managing the initiative's communications efforts (including those of BCFG Co-Directors Professors Katherine Milkman and Angela Duckworth). The Research and Communications Coordinator will manage and coordinate significant multi-site research projects and the communication of the findings from these projects. This position entails developing and implementing research designs, conducting data analysis, preparing research reports, and preparing and disseminating communications. The Research and Communication Coordinator will also handle some administrative duties for the initiative.

Position is contingent on continued funding.Job Description

  • Contribute to intervention design and testing, preparing the data for analysis, performing data analyses, and preparing research reports. Prepare funding proposals, technical reports, presentations for talks and events, and manuscripts for publication.
  • Managing websites, newsletters, and social media accounts, including twitter, facebook, LinkedIn, etc. This would include drafting communications content for the websites, newsletters, social media, annual reports, and other communications, posting communications on a regular schedule (e.g., at least two tweets a week), newsletter and annual report distribution, managing subscriber lists, and updating websites as needed.
  • Handling some administrative tasks for the initiative and the BCFG Co-Directors, including responding to emails from individuals and organizations that reach out to express an interest in our work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

BA/BS with 1-2 years of experience. A background in Economics, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, or Behavioral Science is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and experience with the Microsoft Office suite and digital communication and design applications (e.g., Twitter, Wordpress, Mailchimp, and Canva). The anticipated start date for this position is June 2025.
