Job Description Summary
Drive a research project (collect, analyze and interpret data, and
present data at group meetings) concerning the molecular mechanisms of protein misfolding, aberrant phase transitions, and protein disaggregation. We are particularly interested in the directed evolution and engineering of protein- or RNA-disaggregases as therapeutics to reverse aberrant phase separation in
neurodegenerative disease.
Help in the general running of the lab, including: ordering, receiving items, and maintaining lab organization. Presenting your scientific findings at Shorter lab group meetings as well as at local, national, and international meetings.

Job Description

Drive a research project (collect, analyze and interpret data, and
present data at group meetings) concerning the molecular mechanisms of protein misfolding, aberrant phase transitions, and protein disaggregation. We are particularly interested in the directed evolution and engineering of protein- or RNA-disaggregases as therapeutics to reverse aberrant phase separation in
neurodegenerative disease.

Help in the general running of the lab, including: ordering, receiving items, and maintaining lab organization. Presenting your scientific findings at Shorter lab group meetings as well as at local, national, and international meetings.

Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.

Position contingent upon funding.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Working Conditions
Office, Library, Computer Room; Requires extensive safety

Physical Effort
Typically sitting at a desk or table; Occasional lifting 25 lb. or less
