Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the ¿Pathways to Careers in Business' course, a large-scale hybrid course offering for over 2,000 incoming pre-business students who enroll at IU Bloomington annually.
  • Works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators in the Kelley School and units across campus to create a scaffolded, high-quality academic experience for students who are interested in a career in business but who have not yet been admitted to the Kelley School.
  • Engages in recruitment activities targeting prospective pre-business students, primarily in the spring semester.
  • Works closely with the Director of Kelley Campus Partnerships to support to current pre-business students through one-on-one interactions and retention initiatives
  • Responsible for providing educational resources, training, and support for academic units, faculty, and student programs. The position will work closely with course administration and multiple educational support services.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides support and guidance to faculty in both individual and group settings regarding instructional support, pedagogical practice, classroom management, and federal regulations like FERPA and Title IX.
  • Determines additional support needs through consultation and designs resources to meet educational support needs.
  • Participates in educational resources initiatives in coordination with faculty and staff to improve student academic outcomes and improve classroom experience.
  • Trains teaching assistants, associate instructors, and graders in grading methods, responding appropriately to student concerns, and resolving complex issues.
  • Plans seminars, workshops, and other events for faculty, associate instructors, and students, as requested and appropriate by faculty.
  • Advances programs from individual consultations/workshops to larger-scale transformative events/projects when appropriate.
  • Researches industry trends in the areas of educational theory and practice and incorporates best practices into educational resources initiatives.
  • May oversee student testing administration and consult regularly with students regarding coordination of educational resources.
  • May take on particularly complex consultation opportunities to address significant opportunities in educational support.

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Masters degree

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
