Your Opportunity as the Senior Manager, Frozen Handheld & Spreads Innovation

The Senior Manager, Innovation Frozen Handheld & Spreads is a meaningful leader to innovation strategy, idea development and business commercialization. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and motivating cross-functional team members to deliver product ideas through the innovation process from ideation to launch for trusted, iconic and beloved brands.

Location: Orrville, Corporate Offices

Work Arrangements: Hybrid, 30-50% in office expectations

In this role you will:

Support Business Unit and Innovation Team in achieving Net Sales and Financial targets

  • Work with the Innovation and Brand Leadership team to ensure innovation is aligned with strategy and delivers against the company growth and profitability goals
Strategic thought leadership on Frozen Handheld and Spreads Innovation Strategy and Pipeline
  • Support development of innovation pipeline and innovation strategies feeding the long range and annual plans, reflecting overall corporate and brand goals
  • Provide thought leadership to inspire strategic direction, divergent thinking, and ongoing inspiration for business building platforms for sustained growth
Execute and Deliver on Innovation Pipeline
  • Lead development and execution of product and packaging innovation projects including concept development, feasibility validation, product and packaging R&D, business proposal and approval, project execution, customer sell-in and tracking of in-market performance
  • Build solid, compelling business cases that demonstrate a deep understanding of trends, competitive data, market research and consumer insights
  • Manage new product P&L and adjust as necessary to ensure P&L targets are achieved
  • Ensure executional excellence around the commercialization of new products with launches completed on strategy, on time and on budget
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales Teams to ensure go-to-market plans are developed and transitions are executed seamlessly
Create Organizational Momentum around Innovation Strategy and Initiatives
  • Lead and motivate a diverse, cross-functional, best in class team who will commercialize products through the innovation process, considering strategic, consumer, technical and business viability
  • Assist in building internal innovation capabilities and help to shape a culture of creativity and innovative thinking
Coach and develop direct reports
  • Create an environment of belonging across teams by embracing the uniqueness of all employees and engaging employees as whole people
  • Support the development and training of your team to enable their success in the organization

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
  • 8+ years' experience in marketing, brand management and/or new product development at a consumer products company
  • 3+ years' experience in consumer products innovation and new product design/development
  • 3 + years of brand marketing experience with proven innovation success; either new product development, creation of new business models, start-up experience or other entrepreneurial ventures (food industry experience preferred)
  • Strong team leadership skills and people management experience
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and excitement about envisioning the future
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Communicates complex information in a clear and compelling manner, both verbal and written
  • Ability to influence and storytelling to inspire and communicate idea
  • Effective problem solver and ability to remove barriers
  • Previous experience launching new products, including at least one major product from inception to launch
  • Collaborates and able to build effective relationships
  • Champions vision, able to get buy-in and rally organization across levels and functions
  • Creates an inclusive and creative environment
  • Strong analytical capability and ability to make succinct recommendations
