Position: Senior Manager I, Data Science

Job Location: 702 SW 8th St, Bentonville, AR 72716

Duties: Support the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Help identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data. Understand, articulate, and apply principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function. Select the analytical modeling technique most suitable for the structured, complex data and develops custom analytical models. Conduct exploratory data analysis activities (for example, basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences) on available data. Define and finalize features based on model responses and introduces new or revised features to enhance the analysis and outcomes. Identify the dimensions of the experiment, finalize the design, test hypotheses, and conduct the experiment. Perform trend and cluster analysis on data to answer practical business problems and provide recommendations and key insights to the business. Mentor and guide junior associates on basic modelling and analytics techniques to solve complex problems. Model Deployment and Scaling: Requires knowledge of impact of variables and features on model performance; understanding of servers, model formats to store models. Support efforts to ensure that analytical models and techniques used can be deployed into production. Support evaluation of the analytical model. Support the scalability and sustainability of analytical models. Write code to develop the required solution and application features by using the recommended programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. Test the code using the recommended testing approach. Apply best practice techniques for model testing and tuning to assess accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness for multi-stage models and model ensembles. Generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Understand customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets. Work with User Experience designers and User Interface engineers as required to build front end applications. Present to and influence the team and business audience using the appropriate data visualization frameworks and conveys clear messages through business and stakeholder understanding. Customize communication style based on stakeholder under guidance and leverages rational arguments. Guide and mentor junior associates on story types, structures, and techniques based on context. Tech. Analyze the business problem within one's discipline and questions assumptions to help the business identify the root cause. Identify and recommend approach to resolve the business problem to create effective technology focused solutions. Set relevant deliverables based on the established success criteria and define key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness of the solution. Quantify business impact. Provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develop business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translate business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy and develops domain specific artifact. Serve as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results. Identify and recommend relevant business insights pertaining to their area of work.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business Administration or a related field plus 2 years of experience in analytics or a related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business Administration or a related field plus 4 years of experience in analytics or a related field.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Developing complex SQL queries to find, join, wrangle, analyze, extract, and manipulate datasets with millions of records using tools like GCP, Access, MS SQL Server, Teradata. Creating cost/financial analysis on business problems pertaining to business operations, sales performance, supply chain decisions, network design, transportation/logistics, sourcing, planning, manufacturing problems using Excel. Developing statistical and/or optimization models to solve complex, multi-variate problems with a large number of variables and constraints using tools like Excel Solver, Python, R, CPLEX, Gurobi. Creating packaged tools to aid in modeling or business decision making using tools like Supply Chain Guru, Excel, Access, VBA Macros, Python, R, R Shiny to improve cost/service/efficiency. Developing polished, professional presentation materials for executive and C-suite audiences for large forums and decision-making using tools like PowerPoint and Tableau. Managing and executing projects with cross-functional collaboration, creating plans, dashboards, scorecards, and other supplementary project management materials using tools like Excel, Project, Azure DevOps. Managing and leading teams of supply chain and operations individuals developing technical work, analysis, or supporting day-to-day operations. Developing network design solutions with modeling tools like Llamasoft/Coupa Supply Chain Guru. Improving operations using Continuous Improvement techniques like Six Sigma and Lean concepts. Conducting external research and benchmarking consulting industry standards, public datasets, or purchased information. Conducting proofs of concept or pilots to test and validate new ideas to implement/operationalize them. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
