SENIOR PROJECT DESIGNER - CORPORATE INTERIORS
*** Must have experience with Revit and AutoCAD ***
Full interior fit-out experience is desired.
The Senior Project Designer is efficient in making design related decisions, communicates ideas effectively to their teammates, and synthesizes design directives with technical parameters. They guide a project's design intent into construction reality with a focus on practical documentation ensure deliverables are consistent, clear, and accurate.
The Sr. Project Designer plays a key role in internal workings, including leading efforts to research new products/industry trends. They are efficient and organized, initiating communication with the team to collaboratively problem-solve during all phases. They regularly communicate on project status and progress, ensuring client goals and QC are met and maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Attend client visioning and programming as well as internal kick off meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of client needs, including production of the visioning findings document and program report
- Accurately survey and input existing site conditions
- Work with Director to produce and present test fit plans/schematic plans that follow the client's program and reflect client's vision, including an emphasis on code compliance and best-practices for design.
- With input from the Director, lead conceptual design, schematic design, and design development phases, including preparation of presentation materials.
- Attend and lead design presentations, ensuring all client feedback is well documented.
- Select and specify systems and ancillary furniture.
- Proactively collaborate with Graphic Designer(s) to ensure branding design adheres to client vision and integrates seamlessly with interior architecture.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to storyboard and execute construction documentation, including a focus on maintaining the design intent, creation of technical specifications and detailing, completing code research, adhering to company standards, and overall production efficiency.
- Where applicable, perform internal drawing reviews for quality control and design and/or technical completeness
- Perform construction administration tasks (including attendance at construction meetings, preparation of addendums/bulletins, submittal reviews, RFIs, and overall construction team communication).
- Act as the main point of contact for outside consultants and internal teammates to ensure all deliverables at each stage of the design process are fully coordinated.
- Effectively manage your time, coordinating with PM to ensure time is spent efficiently and within project budget
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship of junior staff
- Be an active and collaborative team member, including participation in activities and internal charrettes focused on maintaining and expanding the firm's production and quality control as well as design aptitude.
- Attend industry functions and events to grow individual knowledge-base and enhance company's presence.
