On behalf of eight SoE academic departments, the Engineering Research Administration (ERA) administers approximately 920 annual awards and $121 million in annual sponsored research. ERA is a high-volume and productive administrative unit, and the ERA staff collectively manage the pre- and post-award activities for a large and diverse portfolio of sponsoring agencies (over 290 different agencies). ERA is looking for a Senior Research Administrator (RA) who will provide a full range of administrative, financial and other tasks associated with pre- and post-award sponsored research activities and services, including proposal preparation and post-award management of funds and budgets. The Senior Research Administratorwill manage the proposal preparation and post-award activities on sponsored projects such as federal grants, foundation grants, and industrial contracts, and serve as a local department expert on all research administration functions.
Job Purpose:Work highly independently to manage the proposal preparation and/or post award activities for a large volume and diverse set of complex, federal and non-federal sponsored research projects, involving multiple sub-awards, principal investigators, and/or cross-school initiatives.
This position is eligible for remote work. The Senior Research Administrator has an option to be remote, hybrid, or entirely in the office. The Senior Research Administrator will be asked to attend certain in-person work events during the year regardless of remote status.

This role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States. Stanford University has five Regional Pay Structures. The compensation for this position will be based on the location of the successful candidate.
The expected pay range for this position is $83,555 to $117,329 per annum for remote positions.
The expected pay range for this position is $116,489 to $133,909 per annum for positions in Stanford Work Locations.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
