JOB DESCRIPTION
Wood is looking for a Senior Riser and Subsea Construction Engineer in Houston, TX, to act as a lead engineer for subsea construction (Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, and Execution) and integrity management projects.
Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days a week.
Domestic and International travel required up to 25%. Must be able to perform work on international offshore vessels and platforms up to 25% of the time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the preparation and review of offshore installation or inspection documents for production SCRs, export SCRs, pipelines, flowlines, umbilical, flexible pipes, production jumpers, PLETS, PLEMS, manifolds, flying leads, and SUTAs;
- Support onsite fabrication, offshore installation, or acting as a CVA on international vessels and/or offshore platform. Function as the offshore client representative, inspection lead, or CVA onboard international vessels, Jones Act vessels, and offshore platforms;
- Monitor the offshore scope execution and generating and distribution of DPRs, inspection reports, or verification reports while liaising with clients, installation contractors, and marine crew to ensure proper execution and company policies are adhered;
- Apply advanced engineering design techniques for deep water riser systems such as top tension risers, steel catenary risers, flexible risers, umbilicals and drilling risers using our internal suite of software and tools. Review/prepare design reports, specifications, and engineering reports;
- Motivate and train new graduate-level engineers;
- Work with other staff disciplines such as facilities, pipeline, structures, materials and support teams to implement studies and designs. Interface directly with vendors and customers as requested. Perform risk assessment and HAZID responsibilities; and
- Provide onshore fabrication support, management planning and oversight. Ensure compliance with the Company HSE Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field, and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 8 years of experience in each of the following:
- Leading or supporting offshore construction and integrity management of subsea production systems, controls systems, and related subsea infrastructure (minimum of 500 days offshore);
- Leading or supporting onshore fabrication packages of subsea structures and components including TSJs, subsea flex joints, production manifolds, PLETs, PLEMs, SUTAs, flying leads, flexible flowlines, and rigid jumpers;
- Supporting detailed design of subsea systems, including the subsea infrastructure installation analysis and riser analysis;
- Leading third part verification (CVA) scopes by conducting review of offshore installation documentations (installation procedures, installation analysis, hydro test, offshore welding, coating and NDE, subsea structures handover) and verifying all plans and procedures are adhered to; and
- Providing construction management and oversite during fabrication and testing of subsea infrastructure and components including attending and actively participating in HAZIDs, HIRAs, and KOMs.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Supporting FEA analysis packages including installation analysis and riser analysis; and
- Leading integrity management activities, both onshore and offshore, including ROV visual inspections, ILIs, external wall thickness inspections, cathartic protection system inspections, tools including incorporating findings into Nexus.
