RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their team in Evanston, IL.Responsibilities Include:- In this role, the Senior Site Reliability Engineer will adopt modern DevOps approaches to deployment and maintenance of infrastructure and products to reduce the time between committing a change to a system and the change being placed in production, whilst ensuring high quality
- Automate and improve development and release processes
- Support and troubleshoot any platform/infrastructure issues
- Work closely with the Security team to ensure that the platform is secure by design, compliant and meets all the requirements to protect customer data and ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will be working with software developers and architect to design and operate a robust, scalable, and stable architecture that can handle huge volumes of data
- Adhere to company policies and any other reasonable management instructions as required by and for the business
REQUIREMENTS:
- AWS knowledge
- System Administration (essential: Linux (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux), bonus: Windows Server)
- Networking (essential: fundamentals of IPv4, routing, firewalling and load balancing traffic)
- Cloud (essential: AWS fundamentals, bonus: AWS experience or certification, Serverless)
- Databases (desirable: PostgreSQL and SQL Server, bonus: Aurora)
- Git experience
- CI/CD (essential: deep understanding of theory and concepts, bonus: experience with GitLab and pipelines)
- Infrastructure as Code (essential: Terraform or CloudFormation fundamentals, bonus: Serverless Framework)
- Containerisation (essential: Docker, bonus: experience with ECS/Fargate)
- Scripting (essential: Bash, bonus: Python)
- Observability (essential: understanding of The Three Pillars of Observability, bonus: Grafana Cloud experience)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
