Your Opportunity as the Senior Technologist, Frozen Handheld and Spreads Research & Development - Products Research

In this role you will be responsible for understanding consumers' needs and translating them into technical requirements to drive business impact. You will leverage technical thinking skills to bring together consumer needs and product possibilities into winning innovation. You will have Products Research responsibility for projects or related programs across all our consumer product categories, including defining and executing the consumer methods used for foundational product understanding and iterative product and package development. With coaching, you will plan and execute research across multiple food categories and brands. You will build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices



Work Arrangements: Minimum 30% in person expectation and can increase as business needs require.

In this role you will:

• Initiate, plan and lead internal and external consumer research activities that guide current and future product innovation
  

• Translate consumer need into technical requirements
  

• Mitigate risk by developing consumer learning plans in conjunction with project deliverables
  

• Verify that products deliver on success criteria and communicate risks for products that fall short of minimum success criteria
  

• Assess relevant competitive landscape for fundamental learning
  

• Interpret research data and present results to team and stakeholders
  

• Collaborate and leverage relationships within R&D and cross functional teams to achieve project goals, foster a continuous improvement mindset
  

• Be responsible for products research deliverables in Technical Readiness Reviews

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Science or Engineering
  

• At least 2 years in Research & Development, preferably in the Consumer Products Industry
  

• Direct or related experience in Products Research with experience using research outcomes to develop, qualify and launch innovation
  

• Proficient in adhering to procedures and developing new ones
  

• Ability to work independently under mild supervision within guidelines and processes
  

• Strong critical thinking and scientific method skills
  

• Ability to analyze and summarize data
  

• Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  

• Willingness and comfort with intermittent travel expectations up to 20%
  

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

• JMP/statistical analysis software experience
  

• Ability to effectively implement both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  

• Presentation skills including using Microsoft PowerPoint
  

• Food Research & Development experience
