The Senior Manager - Capital, Packaging and Mill Sustaining Personal Care Value Stream leads a team which develops and delivers Capital Engineering solutions for the Personal Care Value Stream. The primary accountabilities include leading/managing people in the pursuit of developing, executing, and supporting Capital Projects as needed and defined by the business unit. The scope of these projects will focus on primary packaging equipment and Facility Infrastructure projects across our Personal Care and Non-Woven businesses. They can span from incremental capacity to surgical innovation upgrades, to replacement of obsolete systems. In addition to being the team's subject matter expert in the capital processes, this role will both need to build capability with the capital engineers as well as influence internally across all levels of the organization and drive collaboration across functions/departments.

  • Own and monitor processes to ensure excellence in delivering and executing capital projects within the span of responsibility
  • Support the KCNA Technical Service Provider strategy to ensure Personal Care business needs for value, speed to market, and quality are met.
  • Drive continuous improvements in areas of responsibility and within the PMP process. Ensure Corporate Financial Instructions and Project Management Practices knowledge is consistently applied across the team
  • Support the launch and post launch of capital programs, problem tracking and issue resolution around these technologies.
  • Manage people and financial resources effectively to deliver PC and platform specific business plans.
  • Ensure all work complies with corporate safety, regulatory, product safety and sustainability requirements.
  • Protect and defend K-C proprietary technology and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets and effective protection of proprietary information. Challenge competitive intellectual property to ensure right to practice for K-C technologies and products

Specific Role Accountabilities:

Capital Project Management

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital projects related to packaging and mill infrastructure to enable business continuity and deliver against business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including the mills, value stream, brand packaging, and enterprise capital teams to define packaging technology and mill infrastructure solutions, project scope, budget and timelines (EDR)
  • Prepare and manage capital expenditure budgets
  • Monitor project costs, track expenses, and report on financial performance
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize return on investment.
  • Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies

Capital Engineering Strategy, Implementation and Optimization

  • Partner with leaders within the PC Capital Engineering and Value Stream teams and Enterprise Supply Chain teams in the development and continuous improvement of strategies that drive a step change in capital efficiency
  • Lead implementation of enterprise capital efficiency processes and standards within the NA Personal Care Segment
  • Partner with Value Stream teams to optimize performance of current packaging technologies through data driven analysis and problem solving.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers (contract engineering firms, contractors, equipment OEM's) to cost effectively source materials, negotiate contracts, and maintain quality standards.
  • Monitor vendor/supplier performance, collaboratively address gaps, and drive continuous improvement in customer - supplier relationships and ongoing value creation

Packaging and Infrastructure Strategy Development (MTPA)

  • Partner with R&D, North America and Enterprise Value Stream Teams, and Enterprise Capital Teams to define Manufacturing Technology and Process Advancement roadmaps to support packaging and mill infrastructure
  • Partner with Value Stream teams to optimize performance of current packaging technologies through data driven analysis and problem solving.

In one of our [professional, technical, or manufacturing] roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of manufacturing, technical, scientific, or engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of managing Technical Service Providers or contract engineers.
  • Experience driving decision making at all levels within the organization
  • Strong leadership experience coaching and developing team members for career development and performance improvement.
  • Experience leading and facilitating problem solving across teams to achieve desired results.

Preferred:

  • Direct personnel management experience.
  • Capital engineering execution experience.
  • Working knowledge of both KC's PMP process and CFI rules.
  • Familiarity with Packaging Equipment and facility infrastructure.
