Duties: Provide diversified administrative support and office management for department chair. Assist in preparation and processing of academic documents for appointments and promotions. Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings and conferences including catering needs. Maintain daily calendar of the chair and two senior faculty; coordinate travel and meeting arrangements; prepare reimbursements; staff committee meetings, and seminars; take minutes, prepare and distribute meeting minutes; handle confidential documents and correspondence; manage incoming mail; compose correspondence, act as liaison between internal and external contacts; assist in preparation of grants in collaboration with the business administrator; answer/screen phone calls; coordinate department website information and perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required preferably in an academic setting; included in this experience should be a minimum of 2 years of planning and coordination of projects with a track record of working independently; excellent communication, grammar and organizational skills; and computer expertise including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
