Staking and Utility Technician
Braun Intertec

Responsibilities:



• 95% of job time is spent in a field environment with some administrative work required.

• Interpret utility provided maps/prints to assist in identification of underground utilities.

• Daily contact with utility contractors discussing locate issues.

• Staking borings, test pits and excavation limits using GPS.

• Coordinate and clear public and private utilities prior to field work

• Use of required PPE while performing all work functions and work in a safe manner and adhering to all safety rules and practices

• Responsible for maintaining the tooling, equipment and support vehicle

• Operate support vehicles in a safe and lawful manner, maintain driver documentation when necessary

• Aid in flagging services when needed. Other duties as assigned.



Required Skills:

• A valid driver's license and good driving record

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds on a regular basis

• Ability to comprehend utility provided maps/prints used to identify underground utilities

• Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the job and work outdoors on all types of terrain and in wet/dry/hot/cold weather conditions with or without accommodation.

Required Experience:

• Previous Utility Locator experience desirable
